Conference Venue

All conference talks and panels will be held on the main Wollongong Campus (Northfields Ave) in Building 24.

The registration desk will be set up in the lounge on the ground floor of building 24. You will be able to register from 8:30am on Tuesday 22 November.

All public transport arrives/departs from Northfields Ave.

Coffee can be found in Building 67 (level 1 – Hemmingway); Building 17 (Gypsy Jones); Building 16/Library (Panizzi); Building 21 (The Ugly Duckling), Building 11 (Piccolo Me), and several other venues around campus.

There is an IGA Supermarket, Campus Pharmacy, and Post Office located in Building 11.

HDR/ECR Day

Will take place on 22 November in building 24. All registered attendees are welcome to join. Please indicate whether you will join when completing your registration.

Welcome Drinks Event

Will be held on campus at the end of the conference day on 23 November. FREE craft beer provided by our friends at Principle Brewing!

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held at Panorama House on 24 November. The three hour event will include return transport, entertainment, two courses, craft beer from Principle Brewing, Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, Cascade Light, Semillon Sauvignon Blank, Cabernet Shiraz, soft drinks, juices, mineral water, coffee and tea, and spectacular views! Plus, all dinner attendees will receive 2 free espresso drink vouchers for use at Panizzi Cafe on the UOW campus. It’s not to be missed!

Tickets are available on the registration page and must be purchased in advance.

If you require Campus Security while at the University, they can be reached at 4221 4900, or directly using a marked security phone.

Parking

Car parking is available on campus on a casual basis in Levels E- L, in the P1 Multistorey Carpark ($15 p/day); or P3 – South-Western Carpark in signposted bays, P4 – Western Carpark, or P8 – UniCentre Carpark in signposted bays ($9.60 per day). Carpooling with three or more people will entitle you to free parking on campus in P4 – Western Carpark, subject to availability.

 

Transport

From Sydney Airport:

Wollongong is located approximately 85km south of Sydney, 1 hour by car, or 1.5 hours by train. A connecting train is accessible from the Domestic Terminal train station in Sydney Airport. Change at Wolli Creek station for connecting trains direct to Wollongong or North Wollongong station.

The closest train station to the University is North Wollongong station. UOW operates a free shuttle bus every 10 -15 minutes directly to the campus.

If you are staying in Wollongong, there is a free shuttle bus that operates on a loop around the town, and stops at both of our University Campuses. This bus operates approximately every 10 minutes (7am-6pm, Monday-Friday)

Accomodation

We recommend booking early as hotels will fill up this time of year.
